World Water Day 2014
MacEwan Conference and Event Centre room MSC 487, University of Calgary Friday March 21, 2014 6:30 – 9:00pm Register to attend for free at casyp@cwra.org

Each year, World Water Day highlights a specific aspect of water, this year’s theme being Water and Energy.

Water and energy are closely interlinked and interdependent. Where does water conservation fits in the rapidly evolving world of energy technologies in Alberta? Alumni, staff, students and friends of the University of Calgary are invited to join a knowledgeable and diverse panel of water experts for a lively discussion of water and energy in Alberta. Panelists will address crucial nexus between water and the energy industry in Alberta, including policy and emerging issues around implications of oil and gas development near freshwater resources, integrated approaches and solutions to water-energy management, capacity development issues and identification of key stakeholders in the water-energy nexus. Participants will engage with panelists briefly before the presentations, during a facilitated Q&A period and informally after the presentations.
